Gabriel Perez, known as Algarri The 1, is a Puerto Rican-born artist from Chicago. Raised in Corozal, Puerto Rico, and later relocating to Chicago, his deep musical roots trace back to a family filled with musicians playing instruments like the guiro, timbales, cuatro, and congas.

At the age of 12, he began making music with his cousin Gleen Ortiz, eventually forming the reggaeton group “Los Perdios,” where he was known as “Pucho el Invencible.” Their track “Baila Loca” featured in the movie “Go for It,” gaining recognition. After a break to focus on college, Algarii The 1 made a comeback in 2021, impressing fans with TikTok videos and releasing singles like “Throw it back” and “Bomper.”

His performance at Stereo Nightclub in January 2022 caught the eye of judges, leading to more recognition. Algarii also sponsored a Tequila brand, “EL NACIMIENTO,” and participated in community events. His journey includes interviews with Urban Grind TV Latino, Rico No Suave Show, and performances at the Bandera Bandera Puerto Rican Festival and the Latin Music Week in Las Vegas.

In 2023, Algarii opened for Lunay at the Forge in Joliet, marking another milestone in his musical career. With his energetic performances and catchy music, Algarii The 1 continues to leave a lasting impression on audiences.
